The hotel was nicer than expected. Staff is amazing. I recommend Hotel Margherita and will stay again if I return.

Very clean hotel.
Good variety for breakfast.
The room is very small.
The staff are very welcoming.
Outside the hotel there are souvenir shops, resturants, grocery shop, pharmacy, laundary place and coffee shops. Its a bout 10 minutes walk from the train station. The beach is about 5 min walk. Very quiet place to be.

Nice hotel in a great area. Easily walkable to the beach and all the touristy restaurants. We had apartment 1 and the air conditioning unit were amazing. Nice views and TVs in each bedroom and living room. Breakfast was pretty decent with a good selection of hot and cold options. It's pretty pricey though so be careful. Valet parking is also additional if your staying in the apartments €25 p/n. Enjoy.

After the landslides in 2011, the hotel was renovated. Not quite on the outskirts of town, and not too far from the main area of shops and restaurants on the main street, but still a good walk from the train station.
The rooms are pleasant, ours had a high ceiling and a big bed. Some other rooms have balconies. The bathroom was spotless, with good quality complimentary soaps. However, the internal walls of the building may as well be paper as you can hear everything happening on the other side. We had particularly loud neighbours, but the staff didn't seem interested in dealing with our complaints. Noisy guests aren't their fault but they said they could not do anything as I contacted them between 11pm and 7am. Additionally, they tried to charge us for some things we did not have. But after challenging this it was not pursued.
Breakfast, free for all guests, is a continental buffet with lots of choice.

Great little hotel in the heart of Monterosso. Close to everything. I'm not sure what his capacity at the hotel was, but Lorenzo was amazing and really helped my family and I out. Extremely accommodating and really going out of his way. Depending on the room you get, may be big or small (subjectively). We had a lovely superior room which was ample big with a large balcony. The room was a boutique style and much more up-to-date and well kept than other hotels we stayed at in the area. Definitely recommend this hotel if staying in Monterosso.
