it is the former home of Jinnah, who lived there from 1944 until his death in 1948. ........,...
His sister, fatima jinnah  lived there until 1964....... It was bought by Quaid e Azam in 1943 at the cost of one lac fifteen thousand rupees from its Hindu owner. The building was later acquired in 1985 by the Pakistani government and conserved as a museum.

A few days ago I visited this beautiful and historical place with my Couchsurfing friends. We were doing a city walk around the old town, Saddar. The caretaker told us that he is taking care this place for more than 50 years and even he also served Fatimah Jinnah (Quiad's sister) when she used to live here after the Independence of Pakistan. He was very passionate about sharing the history of the place with visitors. This place kind of gives you an idea about the simple and elegant life style of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. A must visit for Pakistanis and especially people living in Karachi.

Good. We could visit study room, drawing room, dining room. Nobody was allowed upstairs as some renovation is going on. Front lawns were free to visit.
The only drawback; No place for parking your vehicle. You have to park on road

Quaid House Museum is a beautiful Victorian style building that contains many of the personal belonging of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The whole setup gives a very good idea of the life in 1940s and 1950s.

The caretaker is a very knowledgeable person with comprehensive knowledge of history and facts / figures related to the construction / upkeep of the building. Considering the fact that Govt. of Pakistan only spends Rs 6000/- (US $ 60/-) per month for the maintenance of the museum, the caretaker and his staff are doing a wonderful job in maintaining the facility in a reasonable shape. However, the museum certainly needs attention of the Govt. of Pakistan / Govt. of Sind. The museum is a great source of education for the children & elders alike and certainly needs to be better maintained.
