Very interesting place to learn about plants from the whole world, to see, to tast, to smell, it is like a zoo without animals in slavery!

Located near the Uithof University Complex, the Botanic Gardens, established in 1639, belongs to the oldest of its kind in Europe. At its current location you can find nearly 9,000 plant species.

The terrain used to be part of a "Werk aan de Hoofddijk", now called Fort Hoofddijk, one of many strongholds that, together with extensive waterworks, once formed the New Dutch Waterline.

Wonderful garden. Great show of butterflies. A bit small though.
The Rock mountain garden is fun for kids too. A few hidden spots, steep stairs, great views. And amazing to see what plants can grow in Dutch climate. It's given me great ideas for the garden.
Definitely worth visiting again.

A sweetspot on the outskirts of Utrecht. Lovely calm space for strolling a
round a wide variety of flowers, plants and trees. Includes greenhouses with more tropical Flora and a (small) butterfly house. Parking on the side and if full, a big modern Parkhouse on walking distance. Pricing is more than fair. Outdoors sitting area with drinks and food is on the small size: you probably will have to stand around waiting for a table. Again fair pricings. Opening hours are ending a little too early, especially during the summer. All in all a place well worth your time.
